Licks (or etude) on 3NPS scale

3 notes per string scales can be viewed on the fret board as group of 6 notes on 2 strings (3 times and you have touch all the strings)

What if you play on each group of 6 notes the 1st, 5th and 6th
What if you sweep the 1st and 5th
What if you combined this in a kind of lick ?

Below my homework for tonight base on A minor (GP file available here)
(nota : on section 2 I cheat on the second arpegio, but it sounds better like this :)

Ok I'll stop using (only) bar chords

example I

tonalité : Am
classiques :
A /D / F#m / E

altered :

Amaj7 : 6 5 6 6
(F#m7 : 2 x 2 2 ) passing chord
DMmaj7 : 10 9 10 11
F#m7 : 14 13 14 14

2017 ! Happy New Year !

To be able to progress, one need clear objectives and be honest on what is already known and mastered and what is not :

Current Status

I know  ...
- my penta/major scale in any position, but still not able to play them in any key
- notes on most strings, but have weakness on G and B string
- my C major / A minor on first 12 frets

I'm weak at ...
- interval recognition
- keeping consistent strumming
- alternate picking
- open chords changing
- I don't know many open chords

Goals

- acquire solid rhythmic capabilities
- be able to solo over basic chord progression
- master some tunes from start top end (metal genre + pop with sing along)

How to achieve Goals

- practice metal rhythm method (any but seriously)
- practice strict alternate picking exercises, incorporating arpeggios
- learn (more) theory on scale and chords, record chord progression and play along (and use BT)
- learn drums
- ear training (write a software ?)

D add9 add4 ?

No lick today
but a cool and easy chord
found on this article of Cyber Fret

Easy because the fingering is just a C Major open chord moved up two frets.

1 lick per week - First entry

First entry of my Youtube digging to find a lick every week,
I'll try to find a cool lick just before the week-end to be able to work it out !

The cool thing is that tab is available on Guitar World

so I don't have to tab it myself !
